Traditional Owner Groups

Boulia Shire Council would like to acknowledge the traditional carers of the land and pay respect to the elders past and present.

The land within the Boulia Shire encompasses the Traditional Owner Groups of the:

  • Pitta Pitta People
  • Kalkadoon People
  • Yulluna People
  • Yalarrnga People
  • Bularnu Waluwarra Wangkayuju People
  • Wangkamahdla People

The Boulia Shire Council appreciates and respects the importance of our cultural heritage and have working Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA)'s in place.
