'Melrose Place' refurbishments

The 2021- 24 Works for Queensland (W4Q) grant program (funded by the Department of State Development,Pituri Street renovation photo 3 Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning) was a welcome injection of just over $1.02 million into the Council’s minor infrastructure projects budget. The W4Q program is particularly opportune for our shire as it requires no co-contribution to be inputted from Council. Amongst the projects allocated funding from this program, was the refurbishment of Council units on Pituri Street.

These units, known as ‘Melrose Place’ are showing their age and beginning to show signs of deterioration. In a bid to improve the living conditions of these homes, and assist in the attraction and retention of staff, each of the six units were treated to new floor coverings throughout, a new sliding door entry and a complete renovation of the bathroom and laundry area. The outside area of the units also received a slight facelift with the driveway and entry access to each unit being concreted.
